To be honest, I totally agree Steve. From a photographers standpoint the images equals suicide. The pix have been taken and added as mere docs of live aktions. Artistic thought have been nil from the get-go.

Personally I like the forms and images from gigs to be crude, ugly and badly composed. In short: Faulty, with attitude and non-focus in æstethics. I Enjoy Tisbor's addition of hand pressed and føkked up polariods w Pain Jerk and October Revolution. Function well as art objects outside this thread's context, and could easily be exhibed in a gallery situation. HSV's image of KOEFF is quite good as well. A bit shitty and iconic at the same time. Great dynamics. Looking forward to see what further posts will bring.

I attach some photos below of FM/AM - a sound art project fundamented in noise plus.

Sound performance, 62 channels (radios). Private show 2010, Oslo (NO).

Sound performance, 77 channels. Insomina Festival 2010, Tromsø (NO).

Here are some photos taken by the skilled technicians onboard the Stubnitz during their stay in Stockholm in -98. Almost like classical composed portraits, with great contrast between light and darkness. Rather the opposite to the crude punk approach by some of the other photographers.

There was some pretty over the top documentation of the whole 4 day sound art festival via professional room recordings, direct recordings, video, etc.
I'm pretty sure they save everything for their official DVD / CD releases, etc.
The photographer didn't catch any of the full on arms, head and shoulders in the tub with the diving mask, etc. near the end of the set, but the photos he got are very nice.

This thread started off promising, the idea of good live pictures, capturing the feeling / event etc .. good enough for a "coffee table" publication... good quality defintion/contrast/subject etc and now it seems to be folk putting up poor and half-arsed pictures - the last lot from xdementia...some of those pictures are poor...very poor, dull and boring.
Ah well to be expected I suppose....

Oops, mistook this coffee table book for a message board. I'll make sure not to make that mistake again.

Just browse through the shit, Steve - something good will pop up soon or before.
Like the Pogrom pictures, really nice.

Damn, American is poorly represented. Not to say some of those artists aren't good, some of those shows just look goofy as fuck.

Those Pogrom pictures are cool. Was that the same set with that deep-as-fuck gash?

There's a big difference between normal photos of noise gigs which you posted and the more considered, far superior photographs posted at the beginning of this thread.

You are correct which is why the thread is called "good noise live photos" and not "far superior photographs posted at the beginning of this thread."
