Talking with many guys about current situation in noise. Who and where are the "real" distributors of noise releases? Places where you don't only get couple random releases, but quite large selection of material? There used to be a lot of distributors. Almost every country would have someone selling decent selection. Now when I take a look in Sweden, certainly bands and labels yet... who distributes? One vinyl distro? Is that it?
In Finland, well, obviously Freak Animal, but smaller ones like Obscurex and Filth & Violence (who focuses mostly on his own, but also closely related items). Denmark? Norway?!  Russia?! Latvia? Estonia? Lithuania has Autarkeia and Terror. Poland? Germany has Tesco, Rumpsti Pumsti, Loki Foundation...  UK has Unrest, Cold Spring, Peripheral,... 2nd Layers still? more?  France... Nuit & Bruillard is still slowly operating. Metamkine? Who else? Italy has Old Europa Cafe, and several more.. Still a lot of european countries to mention..  USA..  RRR, Phage, Malignant and .. and.. Who's there anymore? Self Abuse doesn't appear very active, but still is there. Many others appear to have dropped whole distribution thing and focus on putting out releases. Japan has NEdS and Lust Vessel (for few selected titles).  And I'm thinking... Is this all?
Reminders who is out there, with distributions. Be no shy with direct links.
And to clarify: Not just distrolist of your own releases and two releases of your buddies, but DISTRIBUTORS!

I'll update the opening message with contact details etc...

I don't know how picky you are with the term "noise" but if more hmmm... openminded:

I recommend too!

Zeno Marx

Malignant.  He's become more varied, or at least held on to his interests and continued to trade/distro many of them.  I wish he'd branch out into more experimental areas again, like he did back in the early Audio Drudge days, but that might be more to do with those labels not interested in trading than with him unwilling to deal with them.

Tedium House has a relatively nice selection, too.

(are there any good neo-folk distros in the USA?)

Lets say that distributors who have mostly noise/noisy/industrial/expeirmental.
Not for example goth or metal or punk distro who has couple noisy records.
No EBM industrial distros who have couple of Genocide Organ on the side.

Best is to write short description what type of distro it is. You know, "wide selection of ambient CD's, not tapes, no vinyl, very little of noise" -type..   Or "neo folk / martial industrial label with some noise & pe too"

Didn't know Ars Macabre is still going! Bought some stuff from them back in 1998 or so..

I contacted them last year because I wanted to buy some records, but never heard back. So I'd guess they aren't going anymore and just have the website still up?

AUSTRIA: STEINKLANG.AT http://www.steinklang.at/shop/ - Their own productions are more Neo Folk/Ritual, but they distribute a good amout of PE and noise (a bunch of other avantgarde music styles too).

GERMANY: SKULLLINE http://www.skullline.de/catalog/index.php?osCsid=0ufkngb0dvr1nif2usad2vsrd2 Label mostly focussed on selling totally overpriced CD-Rs, but due to the rather big noise section I guess it qualifies.

Millstone already mentioned, but Järtecknet seems to develop a small distribution section as well: http://www.järtecknet.se
Then there is Börft of course: http://www.borft.com

Steve

Harbinger Sound in the UK have started distributing Vinyl On Demand boxes as well as selected CD's .. They have a facebook page for contact.

Has Second Layer Records in London ceased to exist??

There is Beast of Prey in Poland. Though it's mostly ambient, neoclassical, but there is noise from +- famous labels. Mostly CDs, but there is some merchandise too. No tapes I think and I didn't see any vinyls too. Link: http://beastofprey.com/

The physical store has unfortunately closed, I used to love going there. Still online though.

If you can keep an open mind, Gilgongo Records is a friend and good source for basically anything and everything. Plus John Wiese drew the logo, so that's saying something.

Ufa Muzak from Russia has some noise releases http://ufa-muzak.narod.ru/
