Indeed, it wasn't bad - but there's still only three songs I'd consider really top drawer. Perhaps just a matter of taste. Actually, managed to see Ken perform a couple of times last year, which was quite a treat! BA were also supposed to be playing in Scotland with Mistreat (!), but the "bioleninists" managed to spoil the fun! Bah!

I sing in this with some other old farts of the Italian Oi/HC scene, mixing everything we like. I'm the youngest and I'm 50s.
If interested I have a few cd and lps lefts, mostly sold out

Talking of Italian stuff, this summer in Finland played live Green Arrow and No Prisöner. Both pretty good. Playing very well, I was told they have past in sXe hardcore, so the looks and skills were about that. Very energetic. Never got the cds/records, though. At the festival, there was Norwegian TV crew making documentary of what is going on in Finland. They have been bugging me probably for couple years to give interview, but always been slightly hesitant to do so. Two days of beer drinking and journalists approached so.. "well, fuck it, lets get it over with..". What was being discussed.. hmm.. not sure. Lets hope edited bits won't be anything extra nasty if pulled out of context, hah..

I know them quite well, especially Green Arrows. I interviewed both No Prisoner and Green Arrows for "Hatecore Connection". I can confirm that Green Arrows come from traditional hardcore, their first two albums were on Vacation House Records, which released albums by Italian hardcore heavyweights like Indigesti, Sottopressione and so on.
After those albums they made a U-turn and signed for Black Shirts Records. In part, this also depends on the particular situation of Trentino, with tensions between Italians and South Tyroleans, and related questions regarding the independence of South Tyrol which polarizes positions.

Ordered some stuff at Rock-O-Rama last week. It seems a lot of the recent reissues have songs with different titles or songs missing. But an original White Noise - First Assault cd is now finally coming my way.

There is legal consequences in many countries. Also Midgård has been reissuing many old classics, that have either songs removed, or all sorts of weird explosions or other sounds added to cover.. nasty words, haha.. Damn.
Some may have followed what has been happening to Rampage (uk) and it not fun times for old skinhead labels that face current day laws.

yes the whole Tyrol indenpendentism is very peculiar in our own view. Average locals always seen them as "NAZIS" also due to George Klotz being a wermacht soldier. While today they are quite left-leaning. Yet there is part of the independentists who feel as Germans. Deutsch Rock band Freiwild are in fact has roots on a NS band but now are shunning their past making antifas claims (also in songs) representing pretty well this contraddiction. As my friend stated people of those bands were part of a "notorious" SXE crew (one of the very few that lasted more than a couple of years) who, despite being quiet people took no shit from antisxe (we had many in Italy). Part of that crew was probably the best sxe Italian band ever existed, Last man standing, who were the Italian Chain fo strength, who were allies of other great bands like think twice, aging and product.

PS: Green arrows cds Face the truth is a blast!!!

I just listened to a few Green Arrows tracks online. Not my style. I love old Italian hardcore and also oi-classics like first Nabat 7" or Basta 7". I remember the Roma straightedge Legion in the 90's, always seemed like a big crew.

On the turntable right now; Condemned 84 - Storming to Power.

For those who care. Rebellion Records just released a 2nd LP of my oi-band; https://www.rebellionshop.com/diamond-dogs-world-serpent-12-mlp-lim-500-2clrs-pre-order-24-11.html

there were different crews in Rome, main one was the generic Roma Crew, Legion was the more militant vegan group. Then other crews. very lively scene indeed. Roma crew gave one of the best Italo-Oi! bands Colonna Infame. Left-wing with very over-the-top lyrics and unpc lyrics (like Erode del 68) and the 80s, the Oi karaoke band who did 2 excellent cover records.

good to know about your band!

Definitely interested in a CD if you got one still.

Those interested in history of skinhead music, there are good fairly new books about it.
SKINHEADS Rock n Rolls Damned Ones! Vol. 1
SKINHEADS Rock n Rolls Damned Ones! Vol. 2
"This book is an incredible journey through the depths of the Skinheads. As well as a lot of artwork (flyers, record sleeves...) and unseen pictures"

Its done by a skinhead, for the skinheads, covering the story - not only in England. Histories of many countries as well as many different era. But main focus is the the "golden years" of skinhead music/culture, when skins actually started their own music and international culture.
Interviews, TONS of scans of records, zines, photos, etc. put the name of book into google picture search and you'll see some samples.
Its not all worship and nostalgic joy, but the author is honest and critical. If he thinks bands music sucked, he will tell about it. He has no problem of writing about the most notorious right wing skinhead groups, but he can be very critical towards NS skins and racists. That won't be problem for him to tell story of bands he may not like too much. There are leftwing bands, Sharp movement mentioned, you got NYC latino skins interviewed, there are USA hardcore covered (including things like showing the original Madball photos of "Ball Of Destruction" 7" back cover (1989) where singers white shirt has not been airbrushed all white, but displays the Skrewdriver graphics, hah..  You got people from Poland, Hungary, and so on and on, telling their stories. Often the early 80's skins come from punk background and many of the stories of these old days are quite similar. Curious things are the old european situations. You got lots of countries that were still under communist rule. You got guys from Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, and so on. Some stories well display how in some countries, punkrock was firmly anti-communist, and transition to skins was pretty logical.
It may be also curious for some people who tend to label anyone that is not devout leftists as "nazi", when book describes the sort of ideological conflicts, that may be part of scene being "patriots" or "nationalists" and how that conflicts with part of scene being "nazis". Also, author does see RAC as part of skinhead movement, but considers later evolvement of white power music as separate phenomena that is not really skinhead scene anymore even it there is a cross-over. Which is, of course, true. Book does acknowledge some bands that have "hairies" as members, but mostly its firmly focused on all things shaven heads culture from late 70's to somewhere about mid 90's.
Language of book is very much zine-esque. I doubt there is editor or too obsessive proof reading, but I like that. It really is a skinhead book, not some art collector or skin cloth fetishist doing it, but guy who was there since mid 80's, and was in it for real. Books may not be super easy to buy, but they are out there and can be bought from the source by just dropping him email.
For finns, there is a massive massive "review" of book set at Veriyhteys blog done by Finn scene veteran, that would probably qualify as zine of its own?! Even if you'd have the books, review may be good to read. For foreign people, this gives some preview pics of books.

After reading that review sometime last year (via translator) was disappointed to see the books were either already sold out or overpriced everywhere I looked. Great to hear they're still available direct, and at a decent price. Need to look into grabbing before it's too late.

Speaking of art collectors, I bought that Skinhead: An Archive book when first published and was let down by the lack of substance. Didn't realise it was essentially a curated collection of cool images (with some historical revisionism to boot!), quite a few of which were already familiar. Nice looking book with great visuals no doubt, but damn, not worth the insane prices it fetches nowadays! Pretty sure you could actually purchase the "custom font" used in the book at one point as well. Clearly working class skins ain't the target audience here.

Hope the Hatecore Connection book mentioned above gets an English translation someday!

Mistreat - No Need to Apologize is a fantastic album!

I have Rock n Rolls Damned Ones! Vol. 1. Nice book but it reads like a Google translation which is a bit annoying.

Been listening to the new Ethnic Cleansing - Hail AIDS! CD reissue quite a bit. It's not really RAC, but more snotty, hatecore offensiveness for the sake of hate and offensiveness. They remind me a bit of more racist version of Suicidal Tendencies. Definitely worth checking out if you've never heard!
