About as nice as I can put it! I mean, it's been so long now it doesn't even matter. But money is money.
Quote from: Duncan on Today at 12:18:51 PMIn the years I've been observing these conversations it remains genuinely fascinating to see who gets away with being unreliable and who does not. There are people who are considered pariahs today based on a year or two of bad activity in the 00s, whilst calls for continued patience or sentiments of 'it's my fault for ordering when I knew he had a bad rep and a complicated life' persist for others with decades of unfulfilled obligations behind them. It's noticeable that some of the more favoured offenders seem organised and responsive enough when the right gig, festival or release arrangement comes into play. How not to conclude that a lot what makes someone a rip off VS who just needs some more time and understanding comes from...who they are and the company they keep?!
If you take money from someone, and then don't deliver the things they purchased from you in a timely fashion, no matter your "life circumstances", you deserve the scorn and black mark. Let's be honest, you're running a business, or selling items personally (same thing), and you take someone's money and then do nothing? And you're a good guy? Negative Ghostrider. This is one issue that really gets me fired up as someone who believes in moving fast on these issues. I'll mail things THE SAME DAY if I can, and not just the "create a tracking number" gambit. I've got a lot of shit going on every day, but I respect you for spending money with me so that respect extends to shipping ASAP and not fucking around. It's out the door with me. My years in convenience store retail management taught me people shouldn't be expected to wait when they are spending their money with you. It's insulting, really. If you can't ship things in a timely manner and have some sort of gratitude for the person ordering from you (again, same thing), you don't deserve the business. You may be a great guy who smiles and shakes my hand and engages in pleasant conversations, but if you can't deliver professionally you stink. End of story.
