The next few wks may be interesting if the Democrats push for those who have mental issues owning guns. I can imagine people coming out saying that 'just b/c their
son/daughter is autistic, it doesn't make them dangerous & should have the same rights as anyone else until they have been proven otherwise'. If they can't own a gun then what about driving or, as it's been mentioned here, raise a child. I doubt Liberals have the guts to stand up to such arguments. Instead they'll push for an assault weapons/hi-cap mag ban.

Reading about Aspergus, it seems people can fixate on something so maybe he developed a firearm obsession but shooting his mother in the face 4x stinks of some SERIOUS anger issues despite him 'unemotional'. Basically, we'll never know what set him off. Maybe a butterfly flapped its wings in South America setting off a massacre in Newtown CT.

Early reports said he hadn't had any contact with his older brother in a year or more which is kind of odd. If it's true.

Thanks for the links about Marioara Rostas. If I'm honest I don't usually feel anything when I read articles of people getting killed but this story had an effect on me for some reason. Have just spent a while reading all of the articles. Messed up.

I don't ever feel anything with articles like this, nor videos or sound clips. I used to kind of get bothered when animals would get tortured on video, being a Dog lover and all, but now for some odd reason those don't even bother me. I think as I get older I just get more detached from this type of stuff. And I don't care what anyone says about being "desensitized" or whatever, I personally don't really think that is a good thing. It's almost a de-evolution in my mind.

Well, people getting killed is as effective as throwing Chicken McNuggets in garbage can. One would have to find a bit more substance than just ordinary things. You know, thinking of this recent school shooting for example. It maybe should awake more feelings than questions in the lines of "so what?".
Israeli stikes at Gaza killed 20 children last month. Who's crying? Have our governments sent some sort of condolences to them like it appears to be policy when handful of americans die in whatever consequences of gun rampage or hurricane.
Almost million less than 5 year olds dies of diarrhoea each year. Within underground movement of west, it probably causes nothing but fart jokes.

I think it is actually very recommended to watch animal torture videos, if this would be only method of bringing couple honest emotions to ones mind. It's quite brutal situations if nothing awakes any emotion anymore.

The closer you are to whomever or whatever, the more you'll feel. Something in a state/country you've never been to or plan on going to, people you've never heard of & couldn't help even if you wanted to, isn't going to resonant all that much. Like with the 29 kids shot, 300+ million other people did not get shot that day... that line of thinking certainly wouldn't make the victims family feel any better but it is true. I would imagine that a certain amount of disassociation is built in to help with coping otherwise everyone would be an emotional mess every day.

One of the main reasons I dislike liberals is  that I do not believe that they care about anyone as much as they say they do.
