Yea Hardcore shows are generally violent especially on the east coast. I hate hardcore but I used to goto local shows just for that reason. There was some crew in my hometown called, if I remember correctly, 24 Club or some shit like that. They basically went to shows to fight and then went to Taco Bell afterwards haha. I never got into it with them outside of this little fight club thing they had going at a church called the 209 that used to run shows (Peterson, you ever go to those shows?). 1 minute, 2 guys, bare knuckle and if you wanted you could go another round, it was pretty fun and everyone got the idea that it wasn't serious so there was never really any bad blood there and the only rule was that "no one wins". I think more scenes should do this. My first fight was with the ex-boyfriend of the girl I was dating at the time, and it was basically like therapy. We fought for our minute, exchanged a few nice hits and then shook hands and were cool ever since. Then I fought some fat dude a few weeks later who kicked the shit out of me and dropped his knee into my kidney when i was on the ground.
Some members of FSU Phoenix lived in the same apartment complex as me for a few years. Even though I smoked and drank we always got along just fine, they weren't the types shown in Boston Beatdown or any shit like that. They were violent dudes from what I heard but not complete assholes. I heard a few months after I moved out that one of the guys was at a hardcore show and some Nu-Metal poser kid was asking around for Meth and they said they had some and lured him to their car where they cut off his nose with a knife. Tweaker almost died, I guess he has a fake nose now.
