What is DW releasing on Record Store day? I'll jump on The Fog 2LP & the Fulci records but I haven't seen anything else mentioned that I'm hot over. I think I'll probably wait for the US pressings from Light in the Day, if they're still planning to do domestic pressings. At least, they're much cheaper than ordering direct. You can preorder The Devils Business & They Live for $20 each. I can live without signed posters & spattered vinyl. Seems like if he's going to run DW for a living then he has to keep re-pressing a lot of the popular titles.

Johann

i find a lot of John Carpenters soundtracks to be absolutely mind blowing.

also a big fan of Carnival of Souls, my girlfriend is watching a ton of early Doctor Who which the soundtrack/special effects are great, great to fall asleep to

pontifx

LV - a perfect child of satan.

supreme soundtrack.

Zeno Marx

Lalo Schifrin has some nice OST work.  I'm no authority at all on funk or 70's movie kitsch, but it seems like "Scorpio's View" from Dirty Harry was the basis for one of the Beastie Boys' directions.  Schifrin used a great synth tone.
"the overindulgent machines were their children"
I only buy vinyl, d00ds.

Death Waltz has pre-orders up for HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY & TWINS OF EVIL. Those in the U.S., check Light in the Attic Records for much cheaper pre-ordering. I order HBTC for $25 shipped. That's way better than $30+ shipping if I had ordered from the label!

secondplanet

The Cinematic Orchestra's fantastic jazzy soundtrack to the avant garde film Man with a Movie Camera.

The old Doctor Who sounds from the 70's, loads of great/bad sounding synth sounds.

Light in the Attic has pre-orders up for the 2nd pressing of THE FOG from Death Waltz:

Wee bit friendlier price over the $40 for the 1st pressing IF you could have bought a copy within the 3 minute time frame that they had it up for.

Fantastic news! Just a while ago I purchased my first DW release, "The House by the Cemetery" by Walter Rizzati. Really excited about that one! They go pretty cheap on AMAZON.CO.UK. I got mine for ~17€ shipped even though they cost about 23€ excluding shipping on Death Waltz.

ordering "THE FOG" as we speak.  glad i opened this thread again..

anyone know anything about an official release for the BEYOND THE BLACK RAINBOW score?  i found a torrent of it, which is ok, but it's a rip from the film, not the actual songs in full.  i remember hearing about an LP release, but i haven't heard shit since.

I think Death Waltz is suppose to release BEYOND... later this year. Music sounds pretty good. I haven't seen the film, I'm not a huge sci-fi fan.

Anyone pick up RE-ANIMATOR on Waxwork? I'm hoping it'll still be around later or they'll do a re-press. Otherwise, it's not a huge deal.

Wish One-Way Static would stop fucking around & release LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT! I have a feeling I'll grumble at the price but I'll pre-order it anyway.

First there was record store day, now there's a cassette tape day:

The only Goblin LPs I have are Dawn of the Dead & Tenebrae which I bought pretty cheap off Discogs. Seems like I have a cd of Suspiria that came with the dvd. Would love to have it on vinyl! I suggested to a friend that he should look into licensing a couple of Goblin titles for vinyl since there are no U.S. editions but he wasn't interested.

Hah, yeah. I heard about this "cassette tape day" couple of days ago. Funny but cool shit! I must get that CS, would be amazing to play it while walking around with my trusty old Walkman. Great traveling music, heh.

I agree, there should be some alternatives, especially because Italy pressings usually has quite a lot of surface noises due to them being pressed on soft vinyl (or at least that's what I've been told). CD of Suspiria that came with DVD? How cool is that! I'm expecting the vinyl version myself, should be here any day now. I ordered it from some German dude who has bunch of negative feedback so I'm not sure how long it's going take but I'm certain it's going to show up sooner or later.

Yes, U.S. DVD  releases use to come with cd soundtracks. Without checking, I think Nekromantik 2 (or maybe it's Schramm ?) has a cd with it; Blue Sunshine, & the Pinky Violence set. I've got Nekro. on a couple of records too.

I have a couple of cool Italian cd collections of giallo & crime music that come with mini-lobby cards. I have the cd for All the Colors of the Dark which is one of my faves; I'd love to have it on vinyl.

I'm hoping The Fog shows up tomorrow but it'll most likely be on Monday or Tuesday.
