Sold out in what, less than a day? This is ridiculous.

kettu

I think it was much less. I read about these last night just berore work and went to the hospital site and it said sold out. im on plenty of mailing lists and sometimes theres no news. but not on hospitals, was word sent out?

this might also be a case of not a lot of copies/tape.

Ritual

I think I read somewhere that there was 100 copies of each tape. That is 1300 tapes sold in a few hours....

tisbor

for one second i thought it was new emil beaulieau material , unfortunately it's not

maybe he didn't even make the tapes , just pretend it's sold out ?

Posted on Stations Of The Cross and HM_AM yahoo mailing lists roughly 22 hours ago. Whorebutcher was a reissue of the CDR, Emil Beaulieau reissue of previous tape and Ash Pool tape version of CD/LP. Rest was new.

Have to remember that today Hospital is running that recording special.

"In addition, we invite the first 100 people that come to the store to record their very own noise cassette!

The recording gear will be set up and supplied by us and you can record your own 1 minute noise tape.

We will personalize your cover for you and you will be the only person to have a copy. You get to keep your recording free of charge.

100 people. 1 minute tapes. Limited to 1."

have to remember that this 100 is minus artist copies, minus store copies, minus distro copies (rrr, fa, second layer, hanson, mimiroglu). but yeah, should come as no surprise by now that hospital moves these things like no other. if only ebay speculators wouldn't exist. . .

I've honestly been disappointed with lot of the last batches anyways. I got two from this new batch and one of those is just the Whorebutcher re-issue. It is amazing what discogs and ebay has done for Hospital. Sold out tapes pop up for double the price a day later...

pretty fun in the hospital store today.  he got the mail man to record a noise tape while he was in there.  So far, the tapes are pretty solid

I don't know if my request was made in time, but well see if FA will stock these eventually. I didn't ask many, so stocks if they come, will be very limited.

Anyone doing 100 copies of tape, is fine with me. It doesn't look like intentionally limiting items to sell out instantly. Who would expect many of those titles ever sell more than 100? I'm personally glad to see Hospital getting wheels on motion and getting out stuff like FFH, Climax Denial, etc.. Haven't got or heard any of them, though. I believe it's "pro-duplicated" now. I hope it means good quality, and not some mono-on-ferric-tapes a'la religious speeches dubs, but perhaps eventually will be seen. I think he has huge source of masters that has waited for years to be released. Batches would be only way to clear the material piled up in times when lots of plans was made, but not enough happened.

Talking in general and not about noise exclusively, I think in many cases in scenes of today, when label announced release to be sold out, it is sold out from them. But perhaps not in general. Copies often still on their way to distributors if such method is used. Endless amount of cases show that top$$ auctions happen just days or weeks after release supposedly sold out. While dozens, if not hundreds of copies are ready to hit the "market".

Interesting thing is, all the covers say edition of 200

catharticprocess

It's amazing how much the label's imprint can make on the speed at which things sell.

ConcreteMascara

This edition was 200. I heard from Dom that he's trying to do bigger editions because the demand is so high. Nobody wants to play inflated prices for the items, it's not like Hospital makes anymore money when they're re-sold anyways. Hospital has a high profile because, for the most part, it releases quality if not exceptional quality material. However "indie" media in the US has gravitated towards Dom and Hospital Productions so there's the added interest from hipster kids who want to get the hype and such.

It is interesting that any label that could sell X numbered pressing wouldn't take advantage of that capacity.  Since this is all business and less to serve the artists and audience, that's why I focus on that aspect.  Matching supply with demand is a lot more respectable than [hasty] fund raiser bake sales.  And that isn't necessarily cross-haired at Hospital.

I only buy vinyl, d00ds.

Who is K.P. & TORTURED HOOKER? Dom-side projects?

What's the FFH ttape titled? Wish he'd get a full-length LP out already despite the previous tapes all  being disappointing.
