Same here. It's his best work & I was hoping "Death" would be similar: spoken words/samples, heavy atmosphere. "Death" is good but "P.T." really brings everything together perfectly. The cd with the extra track is well worth owning, too.

I kinda agree even though I absolutely loved "Death", "Purging Tongues" sounds "complete" meaning I wouldn't add or take away any part from it. The ending is perfect as well. Seriously monumental track! Hopefully there will be vinyl version of that CD, otherwise I'll just do without it and listen the track on YouTube.

I thought Purging Tongues was their weakest moment yet. But it's been well over a year since I listened to it last time. I'll have to dig into it again I guess.
But Death... what an album! While I really liked Seven Chalices, I think the last two songs on the album lacked the power of the previous ones. Death is stronger overall.

It's a really solid companion piece to Heathen. Very similar sound and style, which isn't surprising because I think they were recorded at the same time. Pretty much all Thou is good Thou in my book though.
