Meat Shop - Gambrel (Deadline)
New release from the infamous Meat Shop.
This thing has flowing harsh electronics layered underneath an absolutely drilling high end feedback. The feedback never relents and is an unmoving presence during the whole release. The harsh electronics progress through various movements, but are a very fried underbelly to the scorching on top. While not harsh noise wall, there is a stillness or molasses-like movement to the sounds that carries a similar process and might be more punishing as the frequencies are more extreme. This release varies from the classic 90's Meat Shop sound, but it's an interesting release.
I recommend that anyone unfamiliar with the project check out older releases as well. The classic Dragging Meat Rape album was recently reissued on CD by Antihumanism Records. Richard also reissued material from 1995 titled Krackstrip, which first appeared on a split with Pile of Eggs that is very worthwhile.
If you are into drilling feedback and are looking for something similar to this Meat Shop tape, Richard had another release in this batch called Witches - Bathed in Human Blood! It used similar techniques where the piercing feedback remained unwavering as an anchor to the track, but it contained a really nice mechanical droning underneath.
