Westside Gunn is great, his track with Sean Price sounds like they were listening to a lot of Sabbath in the studio.

Into his brother Conway the Machine and their cousin Benny the Butcher in a big way too.

Grizelda is where its at these days.

That Black Tar track is perfect. Bass line is straight evil.

I should also add that this album is incredible too and the artwork is nothing short of brilliant. Westsidegunn is the grimiest, nothing on this album but tales of putting in work in prison. The first track is uneasy and brooding....

Anyone here into Drink Champs? Pretty much the only podcast I've ever really gotten into. New episode drops on Friday interviewing Conway the Machine AND Tragedy Khadafi. Been really hoping they'd get some Griselda dudes on there for a while, plus N.O.R.E. and Tragedy getting together after so much legendary history and beef... Double whammy for most anticipated episode for me.

The Tragedy episode was excellent and very illuminating for those who know the extent of his and NORE's history.
This hilarious NORE interview from 2000 in Life Sucks Die was where I learned about their falling out. Sounds like there's tension there still but they're cool. Tragedy is a severely underrated rapper.

Ka's Descendants of Cain is amazing, wouldn't have thought I'd hear something this hard hitting in 2020 & in my top 5 albums last year.

Neons Fanzine

I've just released a mixtape, that is already sold out called NIGGER 3D, with a great tracklist of underground southern rappers from the 90s to early 00s
"With Gangsta Rap or Outlaw Country, it's basically the same thing you're looking for: individuals stuck between genius and retarded, talking about drugs, guns, fucking, violence, illegal stupid shit. We love clichés. So now you're served! It doesn't mean everything inside this tape is not fucking fire, because it is, only hits! Nasty as it can be. "

I like Hip Hop when I take time to play it, I find the sounds rich and colourful a lot of the time. Big on Czarface, Wu Tang Clan and DJ Screw. I ordered a CD of a DJ Screw mixtape from Screwed Up Records which handles the releases of his works since he passed and loved it. I believe there are hundreds, I would like more.

That cover! Haha...looks like some serious Rap-A-Lot / No Limit Records type of down souffff H-Town Type of garbage dump for sure! I'm very familiar with shitloads of Hip Hop in all it forms, believe it or not. I probably know more about that type of shit than anyone on here...truth be told. I dislike hip hop a lot these days, but if you didn't know or listen to a lot as a youth, then how can you know you no longer like it? I'm very familiar though with the likes of Ganksta N.I.P...Nation Islam Power is what  the acronym stand for...ehhh..he was basically like Esham The Unholy meets Brotha Lynch Hung, but more with that Geto Boys sound and approach coming from Houston, TX. I just think the tape cover is hilarious, because it's like you're somewhat making fun of this shit as you should Haha, but the artists on the mix tapes intelligence is so low, they'd probably think you were giving them props with this dope mix tape treatment!

I've got a friend in Chicago from way back and I've recently connected again with him and he's still big into the underground hip hop and horrorcore scene. He sent me a link once to this rapper guy from Boston called Slaine, total Boston Irish OG goon type. If you like Mobb Deep, you'd definitely like this, if not better. That was my take away from it, despite having divorced myself from hip hop all together like twenty some years ago. The track he sent me was called When The War Ends, gritty black n white video, reminded me of like some gangster movie type shit like film Narc with Ray Liotta, had that type of hopeless grittiness to it. Also had Ill Bill on the chorus. If you're not familiar with him, you might like him too and he comes from a metal background believe it or not! Haha...anyways thought since if you got an interest in Mobb Deep it's only appropriate to check out Slaine.
