On my way to work yesterday I was reminded that a thing called SlutWalk exists. SlutWalk (that's how they spell it, with no gap between the words for some reason) is when sluts dress like sluts to slut about the streets sluttily chanting that sluts dressed as sluts have the right to be sluts. They had gathered, as demos in Melbourne often do, outside the city library to march to Federation Square. As it happens my tram managed to get away just as one of the organisers was telling the crowd (they had a pretty decent pa) how proud she was of all the sluts and how inclusive they all are and so on ("Let's thank the Christian group that came out to support us today, give 'em a hand!"), so I got to work on time before they started walking and holding up the traffic. Not sure how I could have explained it to work if I was late - "The tram was held up by a mob of sluts." I reflected it's rather a pity they don't march down to where I work to tell all the old ladies I look after, and my mostly female co-workers and coordinators, how they have the right to be sluts.
Inclusive - as long as you're young, hip and narcissistic.
Mind you, it doesn't pay to be
too inclusive.
