Honestly, I grew up in a pretty PC environment. I also had a whole side of my family that was very right wing.
So I see the logical trap inherent to both in terms of claiming to be for 'liberty' or 'freedom'. But simultaneously being intolerant of the mere utterance of certain words.
I don't think anyone has ever switched from being a sexist or racist or socialist or whatever, simply because they were prohibited from using such words as nigger, bitch or socialism in public. I just reject that whole semantic of lexical totalitarianism (of the proletariat!).
But then sometimes I really do wonder about the PE/noise/industrial subculture. There are elements that have moved beyond being merely provocative with shocking imagery of racist tropes. To embracing racist tropes and ideologies.
Though I'm quite sure if such people were backed into a corner on it, in person, they would use the get out of jail free card "oh I'm just playing a character of a bigot that revels in the suffering of blacks and jews, I'm just trying really hard to provoke".
