Yeah. Not really sure I understand Sotos' thinking here. I've heard of flying under the radar, but publishing 50 or so copies...?

Yeah. Not really sure I understand Sotos' thinking here. I've heard of flying under the radar, but publishing 50 or so copies...?

And also a really solid plan to limit 1 per customer and price it to $95. Everyone knows Sotos' books don't get reprints and end up being rare and they are very sought after. What's the point of selling a limited edition book for 23 dollars, when it inevitably just sells out, and after that they go 100-200 dollars a pop in the aftermarket or more?

No, but I'd wager that most of the exclusive contents to that first edition are online in one form or another and have been available to get for years at this point (interviews, Slayer press release, Index script, the abridged text of P.S. etc). The guy behind that subreddit/account has a link elsewhere to a Proton Drive of "The Complete Works of Peter Sotos" (hardly!) so the full thing might get shared there eventually if you ask them. I'm still after a hard copy of that edition by the way, ideally for a reasonable price.

I had a cursory look at their Tumblr and AO3 a little while back actually (I didn't want to linger for very long in either troubled community space, thank you very much), and whilst they had a good stab at formatting the aforementioned P.S. text, it also cut off early for some reason. Even then, if they were using the first two of the four part Waitress pdfs that are out there, they're still missing a page or two that the original scanner forgot to include...

It was my understanding that the AS announcements were related to reprints of past works rather than a new book, but I could be wrong.  (Perhaps theotherjohn remembers.)
