Was this kind of old news? Already years ago some goth stomped to death by black thugs.

White kids not black kids did the stomping (don't think I've ever seen a black person in Bacup), and it was based around subculture rivalries, the Goth appearance of her and her boyfriend and I guess an undercurrent of class hatred - Goths being perceived as middle-class, chavs being underclass. A really horrible depressing case. The kids who did it were like feral street rats. Too close to home for me to laugh at the PC Manchester police statement.

I think I wrote something about that case in the true crime forum months back after seeing a docu about it. She was stomped to death, right?

Essentially yes, he ended up in a coma but she died of her injuries before he came round... I think?

As a teeneager I took some beatings for dressing in black and wearing make up. Some of my friends took PROPER beatings for it. Sometimes we'd gang up on our tormentors and hit back. As I got older I learned to handle myself and it became less of a problem. If problem is the right word. The goth/synth/new romantic etc subculture generated a lot of hatred from those on the outside and though unpleasant at times it was also part of the thrill. For as faggy that me and my friends looked we literally took the violence on the chin. We'd made a choice and stuck by it even when under threat of bodily harm. As an old git I can look back and say it was character building. Rebranding it as a hate crime won't bring anything useful. Only more weak crybabies without the guts to stand their ground and who'll expect "daddy" to protect them on every difficult occasion in life. It's part of life. Fucking toughen up!

On a different note, we have this interview in Vice by a member of the Illuminati.

Well, since this case was about a twenty year old goth girl I don't think there is much to toughen up. How ever tough she would have been, a bunch of chavs would still had stomped her to death. Labeling it as a hate crime would at the best bring longer convictions, but who knows. Of course it doesn't change anything happening in the streets.

You lazy-ass Swedes need to sit up straight so a Lady can have a seat! Were you guys born in a fucking barn or something?!? Jeez. Air out your stinking, nasty balls in the privacy of your home, not in public.

In Texas, where I assume traditional gender roles and therefore chivalry still exists, that is a perfecty reasonable request. In Sweden the average male is so fatigued by equality and feminism that he can't even sit up straight. Cut a tired brother some slack, will ya?

I've noticed how on public transport everyone wants every seat around them for themselves. Blokes, sheilas, old ladies putting their bags on the seats next to them, everyone. I get on the train and look around for a seat and see loads of empty seats, but I can't help notice the looks of disdain on people sitting next to them. The best fun is to find the most macho, agro looking bloke and sit right next to him. They tend to ball up pretty quick.
Shikata ga nai.

I grew up in a remote area in Northern Canada, so being a punk was a pretty outrageous thing to most people, as almost everyone grew up on country & western and hockey and stuff. There was like 50 or so weirdos, tops in a town of around 40,000, which was the biggest town in miles around. People in all the little adjacent places would talk about Timmins as a "big city", so I guess it could have been worse.  I got my ass kicked at like 13 by 30 year old skids. I got my ass kicked constantly, but I thought it was kind of fun.

Nowadays, I guess because of the internet or something, there's lots of "emo" and whatever kind of kids there, and they seem to have no problem with it.

On the bus - Here as well, everyone puts their bags on the seats beside them, even on crowded bus. I'm usually pretty good for that, and always offer my seat to old people, but when middle aged women tell me I should get up and give them my seat, I usually say "I'm sorry, I didn't realize that your gender was a disability" and they don't want it anymore when I vacate it for them. That hasn't happened often, but 2-3 times at least.

Here it's a very serious offence to have your bag or what ever on the next seat. Absolutely no one does it. There's a few rules about public places in Helsinki and one is that and other is that you always stand on the right side of the escalator so busy people can run through them.

FUCK. Nobody does that in the city I live in and it drives me crazy. Everyone stand beside each other and talks. It's a fucking escalator, not an elevator. When I used to live in Toronto, the escalators in the subway stations had signs saying "stand left, walk right" and almost everybody followed that and things worked perfectly. People here don't understand why I get mad at that.

As an alternative teenager in the mid/late 80's you could get shit from almost anybody for the way you looked, even if you were not THAT weird. never had too long hair, nor mowhak... I had spikes for something like two days, but both during the leather/denim period and the boots/braces times you had either what you could call jocks or white trash harrassing you, this until "alternative" became the norm.

Nothing THAT serious happened to me (I was almost invisible also due to size back then), but other people was hassled by so called paninari, members of an annoying fashion that turned many kids into Americans wanna-bees, completely clueless about life and bathing in what was called Reganian edhonism.

Some original paninaris then turned to skinheads, other to yuppies (that were seen as the adult brothers).

Most of them were not violent and just spent time dancing to 80s crappy British pop-music (I fucking can't stand that garbage due to that period apart from some gay oriented stuff), buying shitload of clothes to always look trendy and chasing girls (who can blame them on this?).

These people made other youth groups uncool and some of them turned violent and were hassling other kids.
There were massive retaliation on them, in Milan (where the whole thing begun) there were huge fights with metalheads and punks, there were no-go area for this and that.
I remember some of them hunting for goths (a friend of mine got assaulted by 4 of these with no reason).

I think it has a lot to do with jock mentality.

And now for something completely different.
I somehow find hilarious Bill Brag's statement "you fascists are going to loose". LOL!
I was expecting something more elaborated.

Probably confused it with other case talked when driving around certain area in London. Probably was talk of those blocks having constant violent clash of black kids, and at same time talking of this incident.

Anyways, there was month ago or something case in Oulu city, where guys came from some gay event in bar, and dressed as women. One guy was member of local city politics and his boyfriend was dressed as woman. Some rednecks started to make insults, and eventually thing progressed to good old drunk rednecks slapping them a bit.
So, city of Oulu issues public announcement that it rejects all the violence and that city is openminded and free. Yeah, well, that's fine with me. But what about Oulu having like... is it several dozens of violent incidents per weekend. And it's business as usual. One guy, dressed as woman, gets slapped after some sort of yelling-contest at street and suddenly it's like end of the world and city must start issuing statements.

Being "underground guy", is pretty much a choice. When I see the contemporary mall-goths, with their zipper trousers and eye-liner anime-haircuts, I feel like they need some fatherly slap, hahah...  It's not like this would be violent extermination, but just...  come on losers. If you look like an idiot, then you get what's coming.

That said, there's this great Finnish guy (who some may remember for licking blood of Michael Nine from venue floors after he was cutting himself) who had this habit of dressing as woman, so he can provoke fights and then CRUSH the guys face who had no clue there was no sissy boy is drag, but pure muscle - trained ready for combat. This is kind of thing that also "jocks" need to remember. Not every odd locking guy is nerd. It's kind of gamble, how rude you should be towards people you don't know. Many times: not rude at all.
