I don't really get this modern usage of "trope". Really the word means "figurative use of language" but people seem to use it to mean convention, or  something. I read a paper once that tracked the emergence of the new use on the internet, but really it means, for example, metaphor, or simile, or synecdoche, or irony, etc.

yep
consider that he is some sort of pop guy with street credibility without posing as gansta.
he does nothing politically uncorrect like the "badguys" (and wannabees) who golorify sex and coke, he just describes stuff, has some beefs, etc.
never liked his stuff but not a moron, have no idea why they are making such a fuss...

may day concert is a nightmare anyway, conformism, good-doers, etc, ecc... there are some great performances of course, but it completely lost the feeling of the early days when it was something done by trade unionists for the workers...
