This is my favorite Bizarre Uproar.  Perfect mastering on the whole thing.

V/A: Americanoise 2CD (Audio Dissection)
My go to thing for turn off the brain, turn up the noise situations. Genre and era-defining opus. Would be interesting to hear what the non-MSNP projects' tracks sounded like before Roemer's mastering.

I think couple things, like Death Squad track, is taken from his own release, and brutally crushed into red-zone. I suspect also Crank Sturgeon, Namanax, Knurl etc may be Joe taking their album track and editing it to short heavy crunch version. At least track names sort of indicate that.

Kjostad - Glacial Lake (New Forces, reissue)

I have been sick for the last several days, so any listening that I may have done in that time period essentially went in one ear and out the other.  This disc is the first one to have my full attention, and it is a great one.  I forgot how much synth/low end rumble is present in the work of Kjostad.  I am always like "yes, of course - birds chirping and harsh noise."  Those sounds still are present here, but much more emphasis on the subtle moments of the project are given the spotlight here.  I think that while Dirge stands as my favorite tape by the project, this might be my favorite "proper album" from it.  Anyways, back to birds chirping.

This is my favorite of Kjostad and always find myself comparing anything else from him to this one.

#9247
Priest In Shit - Virgin Martyr CD (Oxen)

Just in time for Easter! Starts with a local news sound bite about a catholic priest's sexual abuse history with young boys. Boston seems to hold a very special place in the religious sexual abuse pantheon...

The CD then kicks immediately into a ripping, rough, and cagey metal abuse feedback squall of the highest order for 45 minutes. Each track features a contribution from a different artist joining the core of Richard and Sean. They do actually feel different enough where I think it's apparent that there are different contributors while still maintaining a very focused sound throughout the album. One of my favorites of the year so far.

Sounds interesting! I'm going to have to check this one out. I didn't even know there was a new Priest In Shit CD out now. Thanks for making this fact known!
